Our Story

From one aged-care village to workplaces across two countries

RosterMates began in 2023 with a single client: a large, independently owned retirement village and aged-care facility. We were a team of software engineers, and rather than design rostering software in isolation, we built it on the floor — alongside the nurses, caregivers and managers who would live with it every day. Their requirements shaped the product feature by feature.

For the first year, that was the entire company. We funded the build ourselves from earlier software work — no outside investors — and launched to more aged-care providers in 2024. From there the platform grew the way it still does: every new customer stretched it further, and every feature we added shipped to everyone. Rostering grew into time clocks and kiosks, timesheets, leave, messaging, digital forms and event staffing.

In 2026, RosterMate became RosterMates — and crossed the Tasman. The platform now carries a full Australian rule set: state and territory public holidays, Australian leave entitlements, and payroll-ready exports for the systems Australian businesses run — Xero, MYOB, KeyPay and Employment Hero.

The approach in Australia is the one that got us here: build closely with the businesses using the product, and ship what genuinely helps.

Years of delivering custom software across healthcare, hospitality, logistics and retail shaped RosterMates' product philosophy: powerful functionality that doesn't need a consultant to configure or a manual to operate. As CEO, he leads product strategy and commercial direction.

Co-Founder & CTO

Guy is the engineering force behind the platform's architecture, prioritising reliability, scalability and long-term maintainability — software that works today and grows with the businesses that depend on it. With a background in full-stack development and enterprise systems, he leads all technical decisions and the platform's continuous development.
