I have been looking for an app that would automate our inhouse rostering system between GPs in our clinic. I have very basic skills in computer systems and just hoped I would land in the hands of good experts.

The hours you approve on timesheets become the pay run. RosterMates works out the tax, files payday with Inland Revenue, pays your team and emails their payslips, all from the login you roster with.

How payroll works

  • PAYE, KiwiSaver and student loan

    Tax is worked out from each employee's tax code, with ESCT taken off employer KiwiSaver contributions.

  • Payday filing to IRD

    Your Employment Information return is filed with Inland Revenue electronically, and new, changed and leaving staff are kept in sync with IRD.

  • Pay everyone at once

    Download one batch file for ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Kiwibank or Westpac that pays your staff and IRD in a single upload.

  • Payslips staff can read

    Emailed with a PDF attached: hours, leave taken, KiwiSaver, year-to-date totals and their annual leave balance.

  • Bonuses, back pay and deductions

    One-off payments are taxed the way IRD taxes extra pays. After-tax deductions need the employee's written consent, and you can add a note to their payslip.

  • Final pay and leave cash-ups

    When someone leaves, RosterMates works out what the Holidays Act says they're owed: untaken leave, the 8%, public holidays and alternative holidays.
