Free salon booking software that your clients will actually use

Hair salons, barbers, nail bars and beauty clinics take bookings around the clock with a page clients understand in seconds. Book by stylist, add a toner or a treatment, get a reminder, move it themselves. You stop answering the phone mid-blow-wave.

Works from your Instagram bio, Facebook page, Google Business Profile or your own website.

Built for how a salon books

A salon isn't one diary, it's one per chair. RosterMates treats every stylist as their own bookable calendar, so a client who wants Aroha sees Aroha's free times, and a walk-in-style “anyone” booking goes to whoever has the lightest day. Services carry their true length, so a full-head colour never gets squeezed into a fringe-trim gap.

Add-ons that add time — toner +20 min, treatment +15 min, beard trim +10 min. Ticked by the client, added to the slot and the price.
A gap after every client — ten minutes to sweep up and reset the chair, built into the times offered.
Questions at checkout — “Have you had colour in the last 6 weeks?” asked before they arrive, answers on the booking.

Sign up free

Enter your business name and email. That's the whole form. Your page gets an address like rostermates.com/book/your-business straight away.

Add services and hours

Name each thing people can book, how long it takes and what it costs. Tick the days you're open. Pick a theme so it matches your brand. The preview updates as you go.

Share the link or paste the widget

Put the link in your website menu, Google Business Profile or Instagram bio. Or paste one short snippet into your site and the booking calendar appears right there.

What salons and barbers get, free

The same tools the paid salon apps sell, without the monthly fee or the per-booking cut.

One diary per stylist

Each stylist is their own chair. Clients pick a person or “no preference”, and the times shown are that person's real gaps. Leave days are hidden automatically.

Services priced and timed

Women's cut 45 min $85, men's cut 30 min $45, balayage 3 h from $260. The price shows on the page; the time shapes the calendar.

Add-ons and extras

Toner, Olaplex, scalp treatment, hot towel shave. Attach them to the services they belong with. The slot grows to fit and the total is shown before they confirm.

Hours, notice and gaps

Open Tuesday to Saturday, late night Thursday. Two hours' notice. A ten-minute gap between clients. Bookings up to eight weeks ahead. All yours to set.

Fewer no-shows

A confirmation with a calendar invite, a reminder before the appointment, and a self-service link to move or cancel. Freed times go straight back on the page.

Looks like your salon

Ten themes or your own colours and font, with a live preview. The page and the widget on your website match your branding, not ours.

Why salons switch to a free booking page

Most salon booking apps charge a monthly fee per stylist, or take a percentage of every booking made through their marketplace. This doesn't.

No monthly fee, no per-stylist fee, no commission on bookings
Your clients stay your clients: no marketplace pushing them to the salon next door
Bookings land while you're colouring, not when you finally check the phone
Reminders and self-service changes cut the no-shows and the phone tag
Every client and booking builds a history you can look back on
When the team grows, rosters, timesheets and payroll are one upgrade away
Why is it free?

Because we think you'll like working with us. The booking page is how we introduce ourselves.

RosterMates is a rostering, timesheet and payroll system built in New Zealand. Most businesses that need a booking page also run a team, and most of them are paying more than they should for rostering or payroll software they only half use. So we give the booking page away, with nothing held back, and make a simple bet: once you're using it and you've dealt with us, you'll want to take the time to move your rostering and payroll across too.

Support you'll actually get

Founder-led, NZ-based, in NZ time. Free setup, training and onboarding, an AI help assistant inside the app that hands you to a real person when it can't answer, and phone call-backs when you'd rather talk. Customer requests regularly become features.

How support works →

A price that stays sensible

$8 per employee per month for everything: rosters, timesheets, leave, messaging, events, forms and payroll exports. No per-module add-ons, no setup fee, no minimum seats. Compare it line by line with the rostering and payroll systems you already know.

So much more included

Drag-and-drop rosters and auto-rostering, kiosk and geofenced clock-in, timesheets that approve in one click, leave with NZ and AU rules built in, an employee app, and payroll that files with IRD directly. Bookings you take today drop straight onto tomorrow's roster.

There's no catch in the free plan and no clock running on it. If you never need the rest, keep the booking page forever. If you do, moving over is a job we help you with, not one you do alone.

Free means free

The booking page is the free product, not a teaser. Pay only if you want rosters, timesheets and payroll too.

Salon booking FAQs

What salon owners and barbers ask before they switch.

Yes. Tick the stylists who take bookings and clients choose who they want, or “no preference”. Each stylist has their own diary, so two clients can book the same time with different people. A stylist on leave isn't offered that day.
Create add-ons with their own extra time and price, then tick which main services offer them. After a client picks a cut or colour they see only that service's add-ons as tick boxes, and the total time and price add up so the slot is long enough.
Yes. Set a gap between bookings, for example 10 or 15 minutes, and the next available time starts after it. You can also require notice, such as two hours, so nobody books a chair that's about to be free in five minutes.
Yes. Times are worked out from every booking on the page whatever service it was made as, so a 45-minute cut at 9:00 and a two-hour colour at 9:30 can never both be taken by one chair. If two clients go for the last slot at the same moment, only one gets it.
Yes. One booking page, unlimited bookings and unlimited stylists at no cost, with no card and no trial period. The page carries a small “Bookings by RosterMate” credit line, which the paid plan can remove.
Every booking gets a confirmation email with a calendar invite, a reminder before the appointment and a link to move or cancel. You're emailed each new booking and change, so you never phone around to confirm.
